FCP 5 capturing issues!

FCP 5 capturing issues!

I have a dual 2Ghz G5, when I try to capture using F8 (log and capture), FCP quits, also it will not recognize my dv deck (Sony DSR-25), which is connected via firewire, these settings are: Firewire NTSC, I have tried using front ports, rear ports, nothing works, i also have 3 big disks daisy chained via firewire 800. I have dumped preferences and restarted several times, I even went as far as reloading FCP software, nothing works, any suggestions?

Does it work if you disconnect the FW drives?

Have you upgraded anything lately, OS or QuickTime?
