Batch conversion - image sequences to Quicktime
by chrispy on Jan 3, 2007 at 3:03:43 pm

Hi,

Does anyone knows if there are any batch conversion software that can convert an image sequences, ie. JPEG, TIFF to Quicktime format ?

Currently I am using Quicktime Pro which works fine but I'm looking for a more flexible way to do this conversion process.

Thanks,

-chrispy

After Effects? Not sure what your color requirements are, but it'll work.

You can also open more than one image sequence in quicktime at a time as well as export more than one at a time. Open the sequences, choose export to quicktime and then set up the parameters to what you want, then switch to the next open sequence, hit Apple-e (export) then hit return. Not exactly a batch but it's faster than waiting one at a time.

I'd vote for After Effects, too.

If you're working in NTSC, just make sure that your default image sequence interpretation is set to 29.97. After that, it's a simple matter of dragging the sequences onto the comp icons, adding them to the Render Queue and hitting the Render button.

A batch render, and slicker'n snot on a doorknob.

Shake is probably what you're looking for. It can do all that and a whole lot more.

Why buy Shake? Motion comes in FCS.

Motion can turn image sequences into quicktimes?!?!? Man, I really gotta read the manual for that program some day.

Yes, the little button on the bottom of the right of the file browser with the series of rectangles on it displays image sequences as one file.
Drop the image sequence onto your timeline & export

Woah, it totally works! I seriously have to start playing around with this program more and figure out all the stuff you can do with it.

I still think FCP's lame not being about to import image sequences directly though.

Thanks Jeremy...looks like a great app. Will try out the beta version.

Now...Apple should just buy them and integrate it into its Pro Apps.
