Timeline output
by Peter73 on Nov 12, 2006 at 5:58:27 am

Hello everyone,

I've been trying in frustration to print my movie (Timeline Playback Recording method) onto miniDV cassette tapes with my miniDV camecorder and when I play back the result, I got random glitches (both video and audio) throughout. I've been trying several times with different tapes and the glitches are never in the same place. Does anyone have the same problem?

I even purchased a new camecorder thinking maybe it might be the problem. And when I recorded over the dv tape, it got the same random glitches.

I had output the same movie onto DVD perfectly without any problems, so I'm thinking the problem must be in the recording process?

The only reason I'm printing to tape is because the film festival needed a BETA-SP copy of the film, so I thought printing from Time Line was fast and convenient and I can then send the miniDV tape to be transfered onto BETA-SP. Now I have no idea what to do... Any suggestions?

I appreciate any help in advance.
-Peter

More info is needed

What type of glitches

a fiew thots on posible solutions

1 - Is the video on your system hard drive (you could be gitting droped frames)
2 - Have yoou tried a different tape (you said you tried recording over)

You said that the only reason you were puting it on tape was to submit it to something.
It is a good idea to put everything you edid back to tape giving you a master on tape that can be accessed later.
