Outputting 720p from FCP
by Nick25 on Oct 31, 2006 at 5:42:47 pm

hi all-- I'm just begining post on an HD project that was shot w/ an hvx200 @720p. I have a Sony HDTV (not flatpanel) amd I'd love to be able to use it as a monitor while editing. The TV has a dvi input as well as a component input (labeled 1080i only) amd of course analog rca and s-video inputs. Does anyone know a way that I can use this TV to see the true 720p HD signal?

thanks for your time!

Nick,

You will need some sort of HD box or card to see your edit in real time on any monitor. The Kona LH is really nice for the price, and you can downconvert the signal to any monitor while editing. Other cards will do this also I think.
