My edit station is crunching a dvd project so can't get to it, meanwhile client sent urgent request to have same an AVI file format for his website. What's the easiest, quickest, cheapest way to do that? Are there other file types usable on web sites?
tnx in advance for the advice,
HalB

There's lots of file types usable on a web site, but there may be some limitation to what the web master there can work with...
AVI's can be exported directly from FCP though. Look in File/Export/Using QuickTime Conversion, and in the popup menu there, select AVI for the export.

You cna waste a lot of time doing this so make a quick phone call and ask what codec, what bitrate, what file size, what frame size. Try to get answers to at least two of those.
If you're lucky, the response will not be, "Huh?"

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: "For crying out loud, read the freakin' manual."

Ooooops, I said OK, because your instructions were clear and I've done similar QTC a zillion times..........but never AVI.... I have fcp 4.5 and it aint on my options list! Am I blind or is just not in 4.5?
