I would like to add a countdown clock that can be placed in a portion of a video I am making. Basically showing how much time is left until the start of the program. Counting down from say 30 minutes. Anyone know a way to solve this problem?

I don't have the Final Cut Pro System Support folder. I made it myself and made a Plugins folder in it as well. I tried dragging the plugins that I have into that folder, but it didn't show up in the effects tab of FCP.

Then you installed FCP incorrectly. FCP will create these folders automatically and then it will find them. Re-install FCP.

i'm trying to use the countdown timer plug-in from TMTS. the TMTS site states:
The plugins are supposed to be text files. Don't worry. It's just so can read the source code more easily and possibly learn FXScript, who knows. They still work as is, just put them in the plugins folder.
uummmm...what? my plug-in folder does not read text. the plug-in package includes plug-ins that are in the correct format, bust most of them are .txt files.
there are new folders of generators when i'm in final cut that are labeled TMTS, but none of them are the"clock."

i also just did a makeshift version of my own using FCP's Timecode Reader. i cropped the video down so it only showed the minutes and seconds, and then i can move that around to anywhere on the screen. just need to have a fairly long clip, find where it starts at "0:00", and let 'er go! it's quick, easy, free, and resident in FCP...but i'll give these other options a try as well.

How do you crop the FCP timer thing? its a filter not a generator... im having the same problems. the TOO MUCH TOO SOON is cool, but the clock jitters left and right with the size of the numbers.... i need 12 seconds AND milliseconds. if not for the jumping it would be perfect. any ideas?
