Capturing From Canon GL-1 (timecode issues)
by gees on Jul 2, 2006 at 6:43:07 pm

Can someone help me figure this capture issue out, I recently did a wedding and captured using a canon gl-1 cam and i am in the process of capturing the footage. i am experiencing a problem when i go to capture the footage in FCP HD:

Log and Capture
Play footage
In/Out mark for capture of desired points
Log Clip and give a name
Go to Batch Clips or Capture Clip
The internal capture monitor begins to cue to "In" points to start capture
The FCP capture window is displying a Timecode Break search but never begins to Capture
The Log and Capture window goes to a mixture of pixels
Then ERROR notice appears

Is anyone aware of this capture glitch using Canon GL-1 series cams. I also use a Sony VX-2100 but not for this particular job.
All suggestions, tips, and feedback help is very much appreciated.

Powerbook 17in.
FCP HD
After Effects 6.5
DVDStudio Pro 2

I always hate to say that I never had issues with my GL1, because a lot of people do. Canon cameras in general give many people problems with capturing footage. All I can suggest is try with a different camera.
