The installation of FCP includes the HDV codec. Maybe an FCP uninstall and reinstall is in order...unless you used some sort of special codec on your first machine then install that codec. It happened to a freind of mine when he upgraded, but not to me. He got the codec from another machine and installed it manually. All was fine afterward. If I remember correctly, it had something to do with a Quicktime upgrade. You could also do a search here on the Cows. There were several people having this problem a few months ago that I saw in some posts on this forum.
