EMERGENCY Renders half black
by Dan Powers on Mar 14, 2006 at 6:26:50 pm

Have an emergency. My timeline is showing the icons as saying Media Missing, however they are all connected and proper in the viewer. When rendered then render with the bottom half of the image totally black like a crop.
Client due in 5 minutes! Help!!
Anyone know what is going on?

Once you trash the thumbnail cache, (it's a folder on the scratch disk) trash your render files as well and then re-render.

There was some kind of bug. I killed the Boris Continuum DVE effect and it was fine. But even with the effect doing nothing the render was half black. It is the only DVE effect in all the plug ins that would allow me to do a scale that was H and V unlocked.
So I couldnt anamoprhic UN squeeze some tall and skinny shots.
Through all my checking and testing I went into Sequence Settings and Loaded the Sequence Preset. It didnt change any values in the display, but it did allow my renders to start working correctlyagain. Go figure.

Thanks for your help and tips.
