white screen in canvas/ no image when timeline paused

This is probably a very simple fix, but I can't find it anywhere. Normally the canvas shows a still frame where you are stopped in the timeline. I bumped some shortcut (I guess) on my keyboard and now whenever I stop playback in the timeline, the canvas becomes a plain white screen. Does anybody know how to get my canvas to show the still frame again?

Go to the top ov your canvas window where you'll find a small pull down menu. Choose the RGB setting instead of the gamma setting.

Sorry.......I meant Alpha setting, not Gamma setting. There's 3 pulldown menus at the top of the window. Go to the one furthest to the right.
