capture 5 min intervals
by melissa on Apr 11, 2005 at 6:05:31 pm

Hello.
We are working on a documentary project with hours of media. We want to capture from our mini DV tapes in FCP HD in five minute intervals. I realize that we could manually log the clips by doing the math, but we were hoping that there is an automated way to do this. We would greatly appreciate any advice on the subject. Thank you.
Melissa

Hi Melissa,

I think it would be as easy as typing in the timecodes you want in the batch window, with enough overlap so that you can matchframe them together if necessary.

For me, I nearly always use capture now, so I can watch and get familiar with all the footage, and name the clips the way I want. Also helpful doing it this way in case you run into a timecode break.
