| Beginner Question. Syncing Video
• | | | |
Hello everyone!
I know my way around final cut, and have been using it for years- though my knowledge is very limited.
This is the first time I had used FC in a long time.
I had simply "imported" my video into FC, somehow forgetting to "Log and Transfer" the footage. duh.
I edited the entire 30 minute project, syncing the separate audio.
I have now properly ingested the same footage via Log and Transfer - E1.
Instead of restarting the entire project from scratch, I would like to know if there is any easy-ish way that I can replace the old video with the new?
Thank you - Hope someone can help!
Johnny

You can try to synch by time code, if the time codes from both sources were the same. Check the manuals for how to do this.

Thank you Mark,
Yes- unfortunately the time codes for each are not the same. I'll have to start over. ah well. Learned quite the lesson there. Thanks for your timely response! much appreciated

Try making your video offline, in order to do that change the folder of your raw material somewhere else and then reconect it with your transcoded material. It should be easy because you have the same names of the files.
In order to reconect you can do it manually giving right click to the files and seleccting reconect media. Then choose you transcoded media with the same name.
