Hi Guys!

I need help (again)
Our tv station start accepting files, and my client wants files not digibetas. Im working with FCP and TVP has another requirements:

1.1. Container – MXF (with SMPTE 379-2004, SMPTE 377-2004, SMPTE 382M-
2007)1
1.2. Pattern – OP1a (with SMPTE 378-2004)2
1.3. Kodek:
- MPEG2 4:2:2 @ Main Level; bitrate 25-50 Mb/s (its prefer codec)

Please tell me how to export my timeline to this format OR how to convert prores to MXF with those properties ?

ps.: sorry for my english ;)

regards
Paul

FCP doesn't export that format, so you'll have to export a same settings quicktime and convert it with other software.

Telestream's Episode comes to mind, but there are a handful of options for third party software IIRC.

Hi Pawel,

We do this daily with the Sony XDCam Transfer for FCP plug-in. You can download it from Sony's Pro site (direct link: http://bit.ly/PekAHy). It's listed as "PDZK-P1 XDCAM Transfer Software". Once this is installed, a new option will appear in FCP's Export menu entry, named "Sony XDCam", rather appropriately. This will bring up a dialog where you can select the container (MXF in your case) and the settings.

I've only ever done this with HD material and you don't specify anything about format, so your mileage may vary.

Hi JC,
Is there an option to embed an SCC file for Closed Captions? I am also needing to send an mxf file to a TV network. They are wanting a file with the DVCPro 50 or 100 codec (SD or HD) with captions embedded. Any advise?

Thanks
Phil Barrett

Hi Im having kind of the same problem however with audio. The station requires a stereo left and a stereo right on 4 channels however somehow im not managing because fcp keeps asking me to output as dual mono. i use sony XDCAM software to convert to mxf, if that helps.

Hope someone can help me out

You learn something new every day. I didn't know that the XDCam transfer software does OP1a.

Thanks Jean-Christophe.
