Just got 8 SONY XDCAM discs for a quick down and dirty project.

I'm importing into FCP7 via XDCAM Transfer but it's going sooo slow - about 3 hrs per 23gb disc. It's been a year or so since I last dealt with SONY XDCAM media but I don't recall it being so painful.

What's with that?

- FCP 7.0.3
- XDCAM TRANSFER Version 2.12.0
- SONY PDW-U1 XDCAM deck
- Lacie 4tb eSATA drive

Any thoughts?

OK, figured it out.

Had to do a firmware update on the borrowed SONY PDW-U1 deck. Transfer speeds are now at 2.9x as opposed to .3x before.

Hi Daryl - curious if you can elaborate on that issue at all, I seem to be having the same problem. What was your fix?
