recapturing tapes

I have a project were I lost all of my original tape transfers and I need to recapture. However, I cannot batch capture (due to lack of pre-roll) at the exact starting point of the original clip. Now it seems FCP will not align the current timecodes with where they would land in my offline clip. What would be the easiest way to align this footage? Offset the timecode?
