Stream Error in Log and Transfers
by Alex Stephens on Nov 7, 2009 at 1:02:06 am

I've been working in the Log and Transfer window in FCP 7.0.1 and I have come across a batch of MFX files that I'm unable to Transfer the file into FCP. The files show up in the window and play in the monitor without issues. Then when I send them to the Queue after selecting the ins and out... I get an "error:stream error" in the Queue Status column and it never imports the movie into the bin. A normal stream error is from time code errors from tape transfers, but I've never seen this from a AVC-Intra clip.

I've been pulling in other AVC-Intra clips without issues until I started this particular batch of movies. The files are from the same client but now seem to have something unique about this files. Has anyone run into this issue before?

Thanks for your help!

60p I'm sure.

Try going in to the log and transfer prefs and turn off the remove duplicate frames option. See if that helps.

If you have fxfactory, make sure it is updated.

Try turning off Perian.

Make sure your scratch disk is formatted for mac, and not FAT32.

Jeremy,

Thanks for the tip. That worked perfectly The clip was a 60p and when I unchecked the Duplicate frames it encoded with a problem. Was that because it was a 60p file?

Thanks for your help!

[Alex Stephens] "Was that because it was a 60p file?"

Most likely. Not only a 60p file, but a 60p file without VFR flags.

Jeremy
