Hello,
I'm trying to capture some footage from a HDCAM deck (Sony SRW-5500) and am having some troubles.
The footage is 23.98 1080P. My settings are as follos:
Sequence Preset: AJA Kona LH: 1080p 23.98 Apple ProRes422
Capture Preset: AJA Kona LH: 1080p 23.98 Apple ProRes422 VFR
Device Control Preset: AJA Kona LH NTSC 23.98 VTR
Video Playback: AJA Kona 1080p23.98 8 Bit (1920x1080)
Audio Playback: AJA Kona
I have SDI going out of the deck into my Kona. When I attempt to log and capture, I am getting "VTR OK" but just color bars and "Preview Disabled".
Perhaps pertinent info...I just upgraded computers and this is the first project I've done on the new machine. It is a Macpro 8-core, 10GB, etc. So all relevant software should be updated to latest versions.

Got it working! Some deck settings were the main issue. Not so quick call to tech support got me through it. Trying to navigate through some of those menus is like deciphering ancient cave writings.

Yeah you don't want VFR for Prores. That VFR is on the newer drivers and it had me all screwy for a bit because it's the default easy setup now for HD @ 23.98. (At least on a Kona 3)

The default format for HDCamSR recording is PsF NOT P, maybe if you set the LH to the Kona easy setup for Kona 1080 23:98 sF the AJA Kona LH NTSC 23.98 VTR does not look correct to me- it should be SONY VTR
