Track-Based Audio Editing?

FCP audio editing is object-based. Changes are applied to individual clips on the timeline.
Isn't there some way to work with an entire track? Say, for example, I wanted to turn the volume down on a track, that is every clip that is on that track. The audio mixer only seems to edit each clip individually. Isn't there a way to apply a filter to a track, instead of to a clip?
Or, if there's no way to do track-based editing, is there any way to edit multiple audio clips simultaneously?

I don't think so but I could be wrong.
Workaround would be to export a .aifs of the sequence, duplicate your sequence to retain your edits as a backup, and cut in the .aif on the track you want in the new sequence.

Sure can...have I got a TRICK for you!
Press the letter "T" three times to turn your mouse into an arrow that points to the left and right. Click on the track you want to adjust the audio on. (NOTE: If you have Stereo Pairs, BOTH pairs will be affected!) Now press the CONTROL KEY and then the [ or ] key (brackets) to adjust audio up and down 3db ([ for +3db, ] for -3db), or CONTROL and - or + for 1db increments.

Well, after reading all of the posts, you can next the audio too. That will turn your audio in to one big audio track with which you can add filters and what not.

If you send your sequence to Soundtrack it will behave in exactly the way that you want. STP is a dedicated audio mixing & editing tool, and it's volume envelopes are attached to the track, not to the clip.
