FCP log and capture interference !

Hi
I have posted this on the Blackmagic forum but seems there is a lot more activity on here and hope someone can help.
I have a Decklink HD Extreme mk2 card, FCP V7, OSX 10.6.1
When I try to import material from DVD or any other analogue source, I open the log and capture window and get a bad inteference, lots of horzontal lines in the log and capture window. All of this is recorded when you log and capture.
This seems to come and go on a daily basis and the only way to cure the problem is reboot the mac, but even that doesn't always work
Importing from Digi-Beta via SDI is all fine, just seems to be the analogue input.
I have just had the card replaced and the problem is still there.
The machine hasn't been relocated, I have reinstalled the Decklink drivers etc, reverted back to old software versions, moved the card to a different slot in the mac, plugged various analogue decks directly into the card and bypass my switcher and no difference.
My only concern is this has happened after I upgraded to FCP7 and OSX 10.6 but I might be wrong

You will probably need a BB generator to get sync. I would refer to the Decklink documentation prior to doing this since in many cases the internal sync should work.

Why don't you just rip the DVD's? They don't have timecode, so it seems like a wasted effort going through FCP. If you need a reel number add it after you import to FCP. If you need a particular codec just transcode while ripping.
Do this with mpeg streamclip, you may need to get mpeg-2 QT component, $20, from Apple to make this work, but it's way faster than real time. Also, if you have flash player and perian on your computer, you can pretty much transcode anything under the sun with this piece of Freeware. Mpeg Streamclip is written by Squared 5. I use it most every day and it's great. Does a fantastic job.
For other analogue sources, not sure. I'm not a Decklink user. But for DVD's, this is definitely a good workflow.

Yes I can rip the DVD's but doesn't help when I have to import Beta SP or god forbid, VHS and U-Matic.
It should work, it used to work so can't understand what has happened !
