Black compression in Compressor
by Rui Coutinho on Nov 4, 2009 at 12:40:02 pm

Hi to you all,

at the moment i'm exporting a music video for a band, this video will be released in their next album as multimedia track in the CD.

So, I've done the edit in final cut, and make a basic color correction with the 3 way color corrector.
I exported it as H264, after the encoding I realized that the encoding process had lifted up my blacks adding some noise...

Does the black compression filter from the compression good enough??

Thanks !!

You could always try it. I have gotten good results myself. Use the preview feature in Compressor to test your black restore tweaks. Using preview will save you a lot of time with trial and error.
