Crashing on Capture

I've been having a rather unique problem and wanted to see just how unique it is. Intermittently, when I enter Capture Mode I will get that lovely see-thru grey bar that starts at the top of my computer monitor and creeps down a bit and I'm locked up. The error report I send to Apple says that OS-X is the culprit. As I said, this is an on again/off again issue - happens sometimes and other times there's no issue. Thoughts anyone?

You know, you COULD give us some clues and tell us about your system's hardware, software and operating system... just for starters.
Or we could take shots in the dark.
Like this -- personally, I think your machine is possessed by Satan, the Dark Prince Himself, and it is in dire need of an exorcism. Know any priests who still do 'em?
