Motion to FCP rendering errors
by Sylke Froechtenigt on Oct 27, 2009 at 4:44:23 pm

Hello,

I'm have a problem rendering templates (in Apple Motion created) in my FCP sequence.

I have 3 video tracks:

1. background (full rendered Quicktime .mov)
2. motion template with drop zones
3. talent keyed out with green screen

My sequence is in Apple ProRes 422 1920x1080.

When I go frame by frame (before rendering) through my sequence everything looks perfect, but of course it needs to be rendered for real-time playback. After the render every 2 - 5 sec or so (always different) I have frames with white/grey squares in them and artifacts, whole flash frames - really mysterious! When I render the sequence again the problem just shifts to other frames showing other errors. I tried partial renders, it's not helping.

I work on a MacBookPro (running 10.4.11 and FCP 6) with an eSata card plugged in and an eSata G-raid drive, where my media is.

Any help is really appreciated!

Sylke
