ProRes codecs on machine without FCP

	ProRes codecs on machine without FCP by Jason Brown on Oct 23, 2009 at 5:21:38 pm I thought I had read somewhere that installing AppleQmasterNode.mpkg on the FCP install disk will give me access to read the ProRes codecs without having FCP installed on the machine. 	Re: ProRes codecs on machine without FCP by Shane Ross on Oct 23, 2009 at 5:31:29 pm Not sure about that. You can get a DECODER on a machine without FCP, but not an ENCODER. QT 7.6 on Mac and PC has a built in decoder, so it will see ProRes files. IF you don't have that version, then you need to install the Decoders from Apple: http://support.apple.com/downloads/Apple_ProRes_QuickTime_Decoder_1_0_for_W... http://support.apple.com/downloads/Apple_ProRes_QuickTime_Decoder_1_0_for_M...
