Video/Edit Server Solutions
by Daniel Elder on Sep 24, 2009 at 5:57:07 pm

I am looking for some video/edit Server solution companies that install various platforms like a Edit Share or a Facilis using a Final Cut Pro Edit Suite. I am from the midwest so I've already contacted Midwest Media Group and ROSCOR and I'm looking for other companies like those that really are able to come in and implement a strong server end solution to make this happen. If anyone has references to companies or individuals who are capable of installing this and they come highly recommended, please let me know.

Thanks.

Do require a Fibre Channel solution or will an ethernet based SAN like Maxx Digital's Final Share work? We're running 6 workstations all cutting Apple ProRes HD (720 and 1080i) on 16TB of storage that can be expanded to over 100TB at any time.

If you need more than 6 workstations, an/or you need uncompressed HD and/or money is no object, get an XSan setup.

Else take a look at Final Share. Up to 6 FCPs (MacPros or even iMacs) work up to DV, DVCPro, ProRes.
