A gathering of the Avid and Final Cut Pro Users Groups has been announced for New York City’s first cross-platform User Group meeting. The “User Group Super Summit” of the two major editing systems’ will come together during HD EXPO - Createasphere on September 17, 2009 at The New Yorker Hotel in New York City. The Createasphere Super Summit gathering is titled “Integrating the Three A’s - Adobe, Apple, Avid” and will focus on integrating the creative tools that shape the way that content is edited and managed. Open to all registrants of HD EXPO - Createasphere and members of the user groups, members and attendees will gather to learn, network and share strategic thoughts.

Patrick Inhofer, President of The Moving Pictures Collective (MoPictive, a DBA of the FCPUG-NY), Matthew Mallinson (President & Founder of ANYUG, the Avid New York User Group) and MoPictive Board Member, and Manhattan Edit Workshop founder Josh Apter, worked together to bring this event to life at HD EXPO - Createasphere.

Mallinson explains, "With shorter turnarounds and the need to rely on a variety of apps, workflows have gotten more complex, making the desire for seamless integration all the more important. In fact, with the need to incorporate Adobe Creative Suite applicaitons into many Avid and Final Cut workflows, we will be including some of the Creative Suite apps into the ANYUG agenda."

Patrick Inhofer adds, “There is so much to know, and understanding the workflows for these tools is really important. For MoPictive, this is the first of three meetings exploring the different facets of moving our projects and media between these three creative platforms. Both MoPictive and ANYUG are motivated to keep knowledge fresh for post-production professionals; regardless of the story telling tools they employ. We are so pleased that the team at HD EXPO - Createasphere, where content creators will be heading for the latest information, have helped facilitate this terrific gathering. We are confident that this Super Summit will be a powerful asset for our community.”

An agenda for the meeting will be announced shortly, but will include: a demo of an Avid offline and Final Cut Studio online / color correct; sharing timelines between the “Three A’s”; a presentation on how to listen to and create great sounding mixes.

HD EXPO - Createasphere hosts the Super Summit, where the user groups will also staff a booth to share information and interact with colleagues. The Super Summit will be held in the evening of HD EXPO - Createasphere at The New Yorker, beginning at 5:30pm.
