Looking for a certain transition
by Rishi Kumar on Aug 7, 2009 at 7:46:34 pm

Hi there

I been using final cut for a while now, and I been looking hard to trying to find a certain transition. I want want the transition to be an OVER EXPOSURE to the next clip.

Right now I do this by keyframing the brightness of the two clips, and throwing a cross dissolve in between the clips, however this is not exactly the look I am lookg for. I want the exposure to increase for clip A, and the exposure to decrease in clip B, not the brightness

Does anyone know how I can do this, or perhaps recommend me a 3rd party external filter which will allow me to do this?

Thanks in Advance!

My favorite is the Nattress Film Flash. I haven't had a client yet that doesn't dig it. It's part of the Film Effect package ($100. for all of them)

This Shane Ross Creative Cow tutorial should work also...

unfortunately it is not yet a filter that comes with FCP, but as Ernie Santella mentions above the Nattress "Big Box of Tricks" is a bargain for just around a hundred bucks. I think the included transition is called G Glow Dissolve.

hope that helps

I second the TMTS suggestion! It's good and it's free.

Hey Thanks!

Is there a place that gives a detailed description on what each effect does? The one on the site is pretty short
