Questions regarding 720p
by Michael Krautwasser on Jul 3, 2009 at 3:05:09 pm

Hello,

I'm new to HD and searched in many other forums before I did post this question to you. Hope you can help with my following questions...
- Which pixel aspect ratio is the right one for 720p (1280 x 720, 30fps, progressiv)? Do I have to choose also Squared Pixels like in FullHD (1920 x 1080)?
- What are the "usual" data rates for 720p movies (Apple ProRes 422 codec, Constant Bitrate/CBR)?
- Are there any special recommendations for playing FullHD or 720p movies? My customer has a Intel Celeron M 1.0 GHz with 512 MB RAM with a integrated graphic chip (which uses memory of the 512 MB RAM). Some colleagues guess that the computer might have not enough performance.
- My customer needs to play FullHD or 720p movies directly from Compact Flash cards due to a special computer configuration (the CF cards do have: Read 15 MB/s, Write 12 MB/s). I'm wondering if Compact Flash cards are enough fast to play these videos at all?

Hope, anybody can help me with these questions.
Thanks a lot (in advance),
M.
