That is my limit, except in EXTREME cases. " YOu can do it only in the timeline, but then drag the clips from the timeline to the Browser to make new clips. Then you can work from those. Yes you can do it to the master clip in the browser before you make subclips. Converting to ProRes doesn't give you any quality enhancement so it's already badly compressed as it is. Anything over 100% scale will be noticeable. You can get away with a little more than 15% before its noticeable. I did a video for a client that I had to blow up an HDV image about 200% shot with the Sony Z1U in its "progressive" mode, and the client loved it. Was it noticeable?... Yeah, but it was acceptable. Fox Sports accepted the show it went into. Did I like doing that? NO. But sometimes you have to do things for clients that you don't like doing. Its called "making the client happy". It also means that you've permanently limited yourself to SD output or lower. If you're OK with that then sure.
