HD Log & Capture only audio

I have been working under DV settings previously. The problems started when I changed my settings (camera and FCP) to HDV.
__*Basic Informations*__:
Camera: Sony HDR-HC9
Operating system: 10.4.11
FCP version: 6.0.5
Recorded data in HDV 1080i
Camera setting HDV
iLink conv: OFF (won't convert automatically HD into DV while transferring)
When I Log & Capture I do not see images in the viewing window of what was recorded (black screen). After the process is completed, I look at the clip in the viewer window and hear sound but see only white screen (no visuals).
*_My Audio/Visual Settings in FCP are the folowing:_*
_Summary_: Sequence Preset: HDV 1080i60
Capture Preset: HDV
Device Control Preset: Sony HDV Firewire
Video Playback: *NONE* (unable to select since all options are grey)
Audio Playback: Default
_Sequence Preset_: HDV1080i60
_Capture Preset_: HDV
_Device Control Presets_: Sony HDV Firewire
_A/V Devices_: Video: *NONE*(unable to select since all options:grey)
Audio: Default
I have cleared all old "User Preferences".
I am struggling with this problem and I am now unable to complete my HD projects.
If there are any good souls that could offer me some help on this one, it would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Elaine,
It seems that for any reason you don't have the HDV codec installed.
This is why you can hear the Audio but no picture.
Have a look in Main> Library> Quick Time and see if you have the "Apple HDV Codec Component".
If not, try re-installing the last Pro Applications Update and QT.

Hi Rafael,
First, thank you so much for your quick response.
I have done the following:
Went to Hard Drive>Library>QT and downloaded the latest update.
I am now working with FCP 6.0.6.
I did a search on my mac for the Apple HD Codec.., (i don't remember the whole phrase but I copied and pasted it) and what i have is not exactly the same thing as you mentioned.
In QT i found these 2 files:
AppleIntermediateCodec.component
AppleMPEG2Codec.component
That's all i could find that would come close to what you wrote.
My FCP Audio/Video Settings are still problematic since they still will not allow me to select any video playback (in Summary) or Video under A/V Devices...
I tried to log and capture and of course until I can change these setting, I will be left with only audio when I do the Log & Capture procedure.

You simply need to get the Apple HDV Codec Component in your Library. Quick Time folder.
Don't make a search in your computer. Go a look for it.
[Elaine Despins]"My FCP Audio/Video Settings are still problematic since they still will not allow me to select any video playback (in Summary) or Video under A/V Devices... " Trash the FC Preferences.
