Final Cut Messing Up After Export?

All right, I'm fairly new to FCP, but I've been coming here to get some helpful tips and hints, and haven't been let down yet. However, this question I couldn't find anywhere that I looked, so I'm asking personally!
I had to record a High School's Graduation. It is 2 hours long, and I finally got it all edited and cut the way I wanted it. My buddy does the sound, and after I got the video done, we put in his audio track and synced it up perfectly. However, when I exported the file (File>Export>QuickTime Movie) about 5 minutes into it, the audio in the exported file started freaking out, like it was a broken record, and the video got very pixely. When I went back into FCP, the files in there were messed up, too, when they weren't before I exported.
When I try to put the file into Compressor, it fails automatically now, no matter what. I've taken out the audio file and tried that to no avail. I put in the audio again, and resynced it, and still it messes up after I try to export. I'm very confused, and need to get this finished ASAP! Any help would be great. Thank you very much for any help you all can give!

First trash your preferences and repair permissions, then reboot.
Second render everything to full in your sequence.
Mixdown the audio.
Does it play correctly in FCP?
All the best,
Tom

If it helps anything at all, the original Exported video started getting extremely pixelated/distorted after a camera change, and for the next hour or so it stays that way. Then about 10 minutes before the end of the video, the quality goes back to normal. So, for 10 minutes at the beginning and end of the video, it looks fine.
