HDV capture issues
by Forrest Love on Feb 11, 2009 at 10:13:06 pm

Capturing 1080i material from a source tape with NO TC breaks, cam was rolling/recording the whole time. I continue to get TC breaks and it aborts when it encounters one even thought I have checked not to abort in User preferences. And if I hit "Cature Now" it will capture but into many clips with no ryme or reason. It flat out won't batch it. I've tried it on 3 different machine, ext HD's and tapes. I gotta be missing something, it's FW coming from thr HDV deck and I have gone through the deck settings, nothing seems amiss. Also it say "No data coming from deck" I'm on deadline and freaking out.
Thanks
Forrest Love

[Forrest Love] "Also it say "No data coming from deck"

That is a confirmation that your firewire cable is bad.
replace it with another one.

also in the capture application there is an option somewhere
to keep the clips as one and not break them up, make sure
thats appropriately set.

I had a canon hv20 that would break clips on capture every
10 seconds and fixed it that way.
