FCExpress Export and Compression?
by Travis Kaney on Nov 30, 2008 at 4:13:07 am

So... I have this project consisting of 2 sequences. One is 55min and the other is 1.5hrs. I realize I won't get these both on one DVD-R but, I need to figure out the best file type for compression.

1. I need to export it and get it on a DVD (obviously)
2. I need to keep the quality as high as possible as I'm selling this project for profit

I need some serious help figuring this out. Anything at all...

Hi Travis,
You could put the two movies in a DVD but with an obvious quality reduction.
I have never worked with FC Express, but assuming that you can "SEND TO COMPRESSOR", just use this function. Sending directly from the FC time line you don't need but chose a Compressor Preset according with the length of your clips and the quality you want to achieve.
Cheers,
Rafael

What's doing the authoring of the DVDs? iDVD? Export a QuickTime Movie of each sequence.

All the best,

Tom
