Hi. Anybody having an experience of Capturing DVCAM format shot miniDV tapes into FCP from DCR-HCR42E Sony consumer palmheld Camera. Since this is a single ccd camera, and my tapes are shot on 3ccd PD170 Sony camera and in DVCam format, i wanted to know if capturing them throughHCR42E would affect my captured clips for their quality or not. Has anyone attempted this before? And of course I'm using a firewire though!
Cheers

Hi Shakeb,
As long as the camera can read the tapes you will have no lose of quality. What you have in the tapes you will get it in your computer through FireWire.
It doesn't matter if have been recorded with other camera (better or worst).
Cheers,
rafael

Thanks a ton Rafael for your words. Today i did the test myself and you are very right, the footage captured shows no sign of quality loss. Cheers - Shakeb
