trouble imputing recovered mxf files

having a bit of trouble imputing video files (mxf off P2 card) that where recovered after a hard drive crashed. So this is the problem, most of the files that where recovered are partial files so when I go to transfer the videos over you can see the files on the right side but they will not play, so it will not let me add clip to queue. So thats one problem. I tried to just import the video and audio separate and match things up but it will only import 30 seconds of both it won't give me the entire file. If anyone knows a way to fix either one of these problems PLEASE let me know, we lost over 200gigs of video for a doc and I really need this footage to work some how. Thanks for the time.

if thats a case what would i have to get to fix this problem. It also does the same thing when I try to import the video or audio clip directly into FCP

1. into FCP the log and transfer is not working because not all files are there so I just tried a normal import into FCP and same thing 29.22 seconds of footage both for video and audio (both imported in separate)
2. when ever we did it with QT it only played 30sec just video no audio. thats the same for good or bad files.
the main thing for me is getting the footage into FCP

when i try to import just the video or just the audio into FCP a Media Performance Warning comes up
"it is highly recommended that you either recapture the media or use the media manager to create new copies of the files to improve their performance for multi stream playback." I really have no idea what that means. but same thing it only brings in 29.22 seconds of the video, plays it fine but i don't get the other 9 minutes of video or audio.

This warning is outdated and can be ignored. FCP is simply not (yet) aware of native MXF import. Anything other than MOV will pop up this message. You can create reference movies from those MXF files and then the warning won't appear even if still the same video and audio data is accessed from the pure MXF. You can disable the message in FCP. Go to 'File' - 'User Preferences' - 'General' and uncheck the option 'Warn when importing non-optimized media'. Our tests showed that native P2 performs even better then MOV as the separated video and audio fits better for editing performance.
This is what the manual says about it:
"In rare cases, Final Cut Pro alerts you if imported media files cannot be optimized for multiple-stream, real-time playback. These files are perfectly fine to use in your Final Cut Pro project. Unless you are editing with multiple uncompressed video streams that demand maximum media file performance, you can usually leave the files as they are and continue editing normally. Since Final Cut Pro always optimizes files when capturing, simply recapturing should maximize the file’s performance."
So, if you want to import your native P2 media in full duration and with original MXF timecode then I suggest to use our MXF4QT Import solution. As is said the 30 seconds limitation comes from the demo version. The full version supports the full duration and spanned clips.
If you don't need the timecode then I suggest you go for P2CMS from Panasonic and use the included MXF preview component. It does more or less the same but timecode is not included.

just so I have this right with your software final cut will allow me to import separate mxf video and audio files into the program. Not just giving me the 30 sec it is now but giving me the entire clip?

Correct.
I don't want to hide this information from you. There is also a free version available directly from Panasonic, as part of P2CMS. It does exactly the same (for P2) but doesn't support timecode. If you don't need timecode maybe just go for the free solution.
Our solution reads the original timecode from both the video and audio MXF files and also for spanned clips. There is also more comprehensive support for other MXF variations such as D10/IMX including streaming support just in case you need that.
