Hi Everyone..
Having some issues...
I'm trying to find the best way to output from a 720p24 quicktime file to a 29.97 NTSC anamorphic digibeta master.
I have two options I think
Currently I am using
FCP 6.0.4
with my Mac Quad 2.5 ghz Power PC G5 and a AJA KONA LHe card to output with.
Is there a way I can do a straight down convert using the card?
If somebody could please outline the steps to achieve that..It would be much appreciated.
Also.
If that isn't a possible my other option is taking the HD file into an NTSC sequence and exporting it that way.
Problem I'm having there is I'm trying to use the CCIR 601 NTSC (40:27) setting...I did a test export and when I brought the self contained test export back in to FCP..put it on a sequence that FCP automatically changed according to the file settings..
It still needed to be rendered..
What am I doing wrong?
Is that the wrong CCIR setting for a 29.97 anamorphic digibeta?
If so what is the right setting.
Trying to just produce a master that has a better NTSC compression than NTSC DV.
Thank you for your time and please help!

You need to use the Kona's downconvert capability because that is the only practical way to add 3:2 pulldown, which is required for your type of conversion. The Kona handles this automatically.
