Monitoring DVC PRO HD on IMAC
by Patrick Marrero on Sep 8, 2008 at 6:35:33 pm

I have FCP Studio 2 on an IMAC and need to externally monitor DVCpro HD footage. What is the best way to do this? I have in the past hooked up a second monitor to the DVI out, but as I understand it, this is not a true reprsentation of what the video would look like on a TV. Ideally I would like to use a comsumer HDTV with HDMI to monitor my editing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Matrox MXO is what you need.

Matrox MXO woult be the way to go...that and a 23" Apple display and you are set. Or you can get the AJA I/O HD then HD Broadcast monitor...but I figure since you are on an iMac, your funds are limited.

Has anyone used the MXO with a DVI to HDMI Convertor and then to a Samsung (or any other kind) HDTV? I have the TV I don't have a Cinema Display.

Thanks in advance
