This is driving me mad! I really hope someone can show me where I am going wrong!
Trying to export my sequence as HDV but no matter what I do it never ends up with the right aspect ratio!
My source files are reported by QT to be:
Apple HDV 1080i50 1440 x1080 (1888 x1062) Millions 25FPS 27.63mbits/s
Normal Size 1920x1080
my sequence in FCP is set up for 1080i50
no matter what settings I use in compressor on export it always comes out stretched. It looks fine in FCP.
the files I am ending up with are reported by QT to be the same as the source except that under Normal size it says 1888x1062?????
I am pretty confused as to what is happening. I spent all last night until 5am trying all the settings Combinations and at no point did I end up with the right ratio! Square pixels or not. Help much appreciated as I have to show this film at a show on Wednesday! I want to re import the flattened HDV into FCP so I can print to video. Or just play back the HDV

OK this is really strange. On my old laptop I had a go at replicating the settings under FCP version 6.0.0 and it works. Problem is my project is on my new laptop with version 6.0.4 and I can't open it on my old set up.
So to re-cap. The same files and settings give me the correct aspect ratio in version 6.0.0 but come out stretched in version 6.0.4

Ahhhhhh so I have found out what has happened. I checked the motion tab settings and some how all of the clips aspect ratios under the distort parameters are on -2. Setting this to 0 corrects the problem for export.
The edit is quite complex. Anybody tell me how to "batch" change all the clips motion tab distort aspect ratios?
Not sure how I ended up here but hey at least there seems a way out!
