Hi there,
i have a problem with INTERLACING, as i have to interlace (not de-interlace) 720p material to 1080i.
How to do that best?
there is a preset in compressor fpr 1080i but it works really bad.
whenever there ist motion in the picture it starts to jerk or studder (i hope u know what i mean with that).
what is the setting point for interlacing?
can i control that anyhow?
what does final cut do to interlace (just throwing lines away?)
there are a lot of coding artefacts.
please help me on this.

Hi Larissa,
A good re-interlacing is not an easy and fast task. You need to re-create half of the picture.I don't know how Compressor do it when you activate the best setting etc.
I've done it with Twixtor and Re-Vision FieldsKit. The result is outstanding but it takes time.
Basically with Twixtor you duplicate the number of progressive frames by interpolating new pictures. To create those new picture with quality takes time.
FieldsKit just take a half of the lines from each frame.
Lately I tried with Motion the picture duplication. In Motion I can do it in 32b and exportb 10b Unc or ProRes. In FC my old Twixtor version works only in 10b.
