Rendering is making my video speed up

The first video that I edited using my new machine and newly installed FCP worked fine, but now things are going a little screwy. When I render, the motion is sped up significantly, but the audio stays the same. I have tried re-editing the video in a new project, but it didn’t change anything. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks for your help.
