Hi,
I have placed a 16:9 mask on a DV project, I am now exporting it as 8 bit uncompressed for better graphics quality, but the outcome of my tests is that it is slightly squeezed, I have tried changing the pull down but there's no difference. How can I export it as 8 bit without the squeeze?
thanks
P

Simply exporting as 8-bit won't do what you want, because you're still rendering the timeline first using the DV codec. You'd need to change the compressor in Sequence Settings to 8-bit uncompressed and then rerender before exporting. However, because of the slight squeeze you mentioned, which is because your taking 720x480 and exporting as 720x486, you may need to do things a little differently. The way to deal with that would be to create a 8-bit uncompressed timeline and cut and paste everything from your DV timeline into that one, then rerender. Also, make sure that "distort" on all clips is at zero after cutting and pasting into the new timeline.

David,
Yes that's what I meant...I have changed the compressor's codec then I rendered it, then I exported it as QT reference file with "current settings".
I will try your suggestion.
Thanks
