How do you extract cuts from raw footage???
by Keith Mosher on Aug 16, 2008 at 3:17:32 am

Ok, so we have raw footage that was captured in very high definition. Each clip is over 200GB and about an hour in length.

After cutting and assembling our choice clips into a sequence....how do we then extract those cuts from the raw footage, so we can then archive the much larger files on a backup hard drive???

And we cannot render out the sequence, because we still need to able to edit and move around the clips on the timeline.

Any help here?

When I try this, the media that is created is not the same length as the media in my sequence. For instance, my sequence of everything I want off of a 1 hour tape comes out to around 4:30. When I drag all of the created media from using media manager into a timeline, it comes out to around 28 minutes and there is still a lot of unnecessary footage that I would like to remove from it. Any reason why this may be?
