Need help outputting DVCPRO HD footage (P2) to mini DV

Hi folks, my name's Richie... I'm entering the 48 Hour Film Project this weekend and I need some advise. I plan on shooting this project on an HVX with a 35mm adapter... I want to shoot it on 720p60 at 24fps but the event only supports formats of DV NTSC at 29.97 with a preference on Mini DV tape... i realize i have to down rez but I want the origianl project in HD for later purposes...i don't have a KONA AJA or any other gear so i'm only using my G5 with FCP 6. Any advise on getting the proper settings ? i figure i'm going to need to downscale it to fit 4:3 aswell... i also figure printing to a mini DV tape will give me the best quality possible but i'm not sure on the best way to go about it... please any help would be appreciated, the event starts this friday and I'd like to run some test prior to work out any kinks. Once finished editing, create a DV sequence and then nest your other one in it. Render then lay to tape.

There are no "technical solutions" to your "artistic problems".
Don't let technology get in the way of your creativity!
