Flash Mouths to Lightwave character
by Aaron Carver (Aaron) on May 30, 2008 at 3:51:48 pm

Hi!

I'm trying to find a way to apply a library of Flash mouth shapes to the surface of a 3d character in Lightwave, to avoid the work of modeling and animating a 3D mouth. The character will be cell shaded so it should look good.

The problem is, I don't know of a good way to do this. There are 15 mouth shapes, and applying one of them to the surface isn't going to cut it, I need to be able to switch mouth shapes and keyframe them.

I tried exporting a quicktime video with a different mouth shape on each frame, and then projecting them from a light, but I can't control which frame of video is projected on any given frame.

Is there some code I need to learn? I know South Park is done in Maya...

Why can't you synch in flash, export a quicktime, and apply the quicktime to the surface?
