Display Problems with Modeler and Lightwave, SGI Version 5.6
by jburford on Aug 21, 2005 at 7:17:39 pm

Oddly when I run Modeler or Lightwave on my SGI Octane System, all of the Tabs and displays, are pure white, except for the Preview (OpenGL) Window which displays properly.

If I move the mouse pointer out of the Modeler Window, and over other Apps, the Displays from within Modeler show up properly. . . .

Help, anyone using the SGI Version of Lightwave?

Regards,

I'd post this on NewTek's boards as well...more likely to find an SGI user that way.

I did some of the work for you, and found the SGI section of NewTek Tech Support. Here's a link to their FAQ: http://vbulletin.newtek.com/showthread.php?p=44519#post44519

It doesn't address your problem specifically; sorry.

Besides the possibility of an unsupported OS version, there's also the possibility that you're not using a legit version of LightWave. If your software came without a hardware lock ("dongle"), it's not legitimate.

If none of that helps, call NewTek tech support. Good luck!

Thanks for your replies. I will go over and cross post this into the Newtek Board.

No, this is a legal version and original software. The SGI handled things differently, using it's License Manager and Server Code which it generates to provide Newtek with and recieve an Unlock code. The Server Code is specific to a single system.

Thanks again.
