Identifying Font Styles
by Mark Fanjoy on Jun 8, 2009 at 9:57:11 pm

I cannot seem to figure out how to identify a font style being used when I open an existing LiveType file.

If I go to the "Fonts" tab, it doesn't highlight that particular font and I have to visually search until I find the font that matches the layout text.

Is there something I'm missing, or is this feature not part of the structure?

Thank you in advance.

Under the Text Tab in the Inspector window, below Leading there is an item named Info: and it displays whatever text font you are using. Got to the browser window and scroll down to that text font. The right window (named "Typeface" will tell you the style.

Another simple way is to open the existing project, then right or cntrl-click on the text element in the timeline and then click on "reveal in media browser" (I think that's what it says) and it will automatically highlight the font in the browser for you. Wanna use it? Just click apply or apply to new track
