Need help changing color of glow effect
by Roger Robinson on Jun 4, 2009 at 6:16:28 pm

I have imported a photo that I cropped in Photoshop and saved as a jpeg file to use as a logo in Live Type. When I add the glow effect Experience to the logo the effect is black. I have tried to change the color of the effect to white without success. I added text and moved the effect line from the logo to the text and the effect is white for the text and when I moved it back to the logo it became black again. I have tried to change the color in the style tab and attribute tab and it has not seemed to make a difference. What am I missing?

I think you'd have to add a matte, and ensure you have an alpha channel, as described at the link below.

What format is the imported Photoshop file? Try exporting it as a 24 bit .png and then "Placing (File > Place... ). I have loaded a black and then a white .png file (with transparency) and applied the Experience glow. It works fine on both of them. You set the color in the Style > Glow > Color box. It does not need a Matte.
