New to Live Type Need help

Ok I set my live type for graphics, using the scroll for my credits.
The problem I have is I get everything set and working, the fonts, the Scroll, the speed
of the credits and the background I want,

NOw when I go to put them in the final cut express 4, everything's there, except the background color.
MY background will always be black when I need it to be what I choose.

What am I doing wrong? I've tried everything.

Where do I begin. Doing a scroll in LiveType is just asking for it. It is always better to use the Boris Crawl in FCP. As for the background, open your Project Properties and click on the render background button.
