Duplicating favorite LT projects...
by Bill Thomas (jodyberry) on Aug 12, 2008 at 2:10:30 am

As a newbie to Livetype, I think I'm finally taking advantage of all LT has to offer. (Thanks Lynda.com).

Anyway, is there an easy way to duplicate LT projects within FCP?

Say I like a lower third I made in LT. I tried just Copy/Paste after importing into FCP, but then when I "Open in editor", it always opens to the same file.

OK, so I learned that instead I should make a template in LT to re-use a graphic I like. I suppose I can "Save as" for each new change and bring those into FCP.
I just thought there might be a quicker way.

That is one of the draw backs of Live Type. Motion allows you to create templates. Here is a tutorial on how to create you own custom templates. Hope this helps.

I make templates in LT all the time. I just save the template to the Templates folder in LiveType.
