I am using Live Type 2.1 on a 2X2.66 GHZ Dual-Core Intel Xeon MAC computer, 10.4.11. Most of the live fonts, all of the textures and the objects are not working. I select them and I don't see anything. The text effects are working.
My first thought is that my video card is going out?? But Motion seems to be working OK?? I have un-installed the application and re-installed.

This is one of the symptoms that many people are reporting after upgrading to FCP 6.0.3 & QT 7.4.5. What QuickTime version are you using and do you have any third party video hardware like AJA or BlackMagic?

I'm still experiencing the same problems you mention. The OS update did not help nor did the Blackmagic update. My guess is it is the nvidia drivers. If anyone else reading this has a similar problem, please post your system specs here so we can try to find a common component.
To summarize,
PROBLEM:
In Livetype, Objects and textures do not display in the viewer or render. I have a small bit of corruption showing in the upper region of the viewer frame. Fonts and effects work but some users report problems here as well.
List you Mac model, OS version, Quicktime version, amount of ram, graphics card, Open GL version (can be found in System Profiler under Frameworks tab), and any third-party hardware that might affect the graphics display.
I'll start:
Mac Pro 2x3.2 Quadcore - 10.5.3 (10.5.2 had same issues) - QT 7.4.5 - 6MBram - nvidia8800GT - SATA internal & external storage - Blackmagic Multibridge Pro (v6.7)- Open GL 1.5.6 - Wacom Intous2 tablet
