Corruption within Livetype

I have a similar but obviously different problem than Mitch (see thread below). I have corrupted display within LT. Regular & LT fonts display correctly, but background, objects and effects do not. Livetype will hang if I try to render. I've re-installed and updated.
OS 10.5.2 - QT 7.5 - All current updates

Mac Pro 2x3.2 Quadcore - 6MBram - nvidia8800GT - SATA internal & external storage - Blackmagic Multibridge Pro

You may want to try OS X 10.5.3, as it has new drivers for the nVidia 8800 (and supposedly the 2600). The combination of 10.5.3 and the newly released QT 7.5 has finally fixed all of our problems with not only LiveType, but all the chroma keyers.
On another note, other have reported that QT 7.5 has introduced problems with their BlackMagic video hardware. You might (as an experiment) try removing your BM hardware (and possibly the drivers) to see if this works. When I first reported this problem, a friend was having similar problems to those you report (different than mine). He removed his BM Intensity Pro and the problem disappeared.
I'm a huge fan of grant, but it does seem that every Apple update causes problems with BM products...
